First of all I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Blush Novelties and Latex, Leather and Lace for making this review possible.
So with us all wanting to do more to help the planet, the second I heard about a environment-friendly, biodegradable sex toy, I had to try it.
The Gaia vibrator I was sent is in the shape of a traditional bullet vibrator, measuring 7 inches long, with 5.75 inches insertable, 1inch across with a 3.5inch girth around. The tip is tapered and the vibrator comes in blue, pink and green. I was sent green.
The toy is made of starch-based plastic (noted on the box as a polymer compound material mixed with corn starch) which is biodegradable in a composter and also recyclable. Plus, the packaging is card (no plastic inserts) so it’s all completely recyclable. Pretty cool! It’s operated with two AA batteries, so I’d recommend taking the batteries out before composting! It is also marketed as phthalate and latex free.

Aside from the environment slant of this product being a humungous plus, what I really liked was the twist dial at the bottom of the toy. Like a volume on a speaker, you turn it to increase the level of vibration intensity. I liked the feel as it was smooth and not as clunky as some silicone vibrators can be. It’s light and easy to clean and apply lube to (side note: thanks to the folks at Leather, Latex and Lace for supplying with a sachets of WICKED lubes to try out along with this!)
As much as I LOVE different settings, it was nice to go back to basics and experiment with different levels of the same settings, increasing and decreasing the intensity as I felt. With me usually basic speed settings are the best way to make me orgasm when using a vibrator.
However on the downside, there is just that one setting. If you are looking for ripple settings or pulses, this product is definitely not for you. Another downside I found is this thing rattles. Really rattles. If you’re not wanting to wake up the house at night or want something a little more discreet, this again is not the product for you.
I tried keeping it quiet under a duvet and with a pillow and this was still louder than some of my other vibrators. I found holding the bottom of the base of the insertable part of the vibrator the only thing that would keep it as quiet as others I have tested.
Personally, I like my vibrators more quiet and discreet for obvious reasons, and given the other higher quality toys on the market, I think overall Gaia could do a better job in developing a eco friendly toy that matches its competitors.
Rating: 2.5/5
All my love,

Sounds like a fun product, but from my experience the ladies prefer the different settings to build up tension.

It was fun certainly, and admittedly I prefer the same as usually the body safe silicone toys on the market are generally more powerful. While this was a fun product the noise was it’s biggest downfall sadly. x
