Lights Out (Short Story. NSFW)

When I met him, I didn’t think it would turn out the way it did.

Jamie was a confident man, but quietly so. He was very much the strong, silent type, standing at 6’2 with buzzed brown hair and a strong pair of shoulders.

He worked in the Financial District, so it was only on the weekends when I didn’t see him in a suit. We were neighbours and passed each other frequently in the hallway to our apartments that lay smack opposite the other.

Jamie was always kind to me. Despite his cool demeanour that made many men not want to cross him, he always greeted me with a lovely smile when we got home from work at the same time.

I won’t lie to you, Jamie was very handsome and I’d thought so since I first saw him. I was too shy to take things further than a basic, “Hello” for months, before he took it upon himself one evening to ask me how my day went.

Every assumption I’d had about him had been completely wrong. I built up this image that he was some flashy high-flyer who probably was too big for his boots, as nice as he was to me. But he wasn’t. He was very much a guy’s guy, down to earth and had a wonderful sense of humour.

He made me laugh and often told me how he liked to hear my giggle. We were from two completely different worlds. Me and my artsy, Bohemian way. Him with his suave, slick life, yet we clicked.

A few weeks later, in between our chats and relaxed, platonic evenings together over takeout food, our apartment block had a power cut. While finishing up work on my laptop, my world plunged in to darkness. The phones were dead and the heating wasn’t working.

It was then when I heard a faint knock at the door.

“Hey,” Jamie whispered, holding a lit candle with that smile I couldn’t resist, “Fancy some company?”

“I take it everything’s gone out on the entire block?” I asked as I let him in.

“Looks that way.”

We got settled on the sofa. He placed his candle, snug in its silver holder on the coffee table while he brandished a smaller candle from his jacket pocket.

“Here you go,” he smiled, lighting the wick with his lighter, “A small candle for a small woman.”

Amused, my mouth twisted. I was good bit shorter than Jamie at 5’3 and he never let me forget it.

“That’s rich, coming from a giant!” I laughed, playfully swatting his arm. He gave a melodramatic, “Ow!” as we both chuckled. When it came to Jamie’s humour, I gave just as good as I got.

The candles lit the space around us in a warm glow. With the heating down, it began to get colder as time went on. I brought my throw from my bedroom, wrapping myself up as I got back to the sofa.

“You cold?” Jamie smiled lazily at me. When I sat back down, he draped his arm around the back of the sofa. He always did, but this time the atmosphere was different. He sat closer so our knees touched. His voice grew gentle.

“Come here…” He coaxed me in to his side, “Let me keep you warm.”

I didn’t complain at all. It just felt so right to be nuzzled up against his chest. I rested my head in the crook of his neck. He tilted my chin up with the crook of his finger.

The flickering glow of the candles brought out his strong cheekbones, chiselled jaw and brown eyes that darkly gazed down at me. Before I knew what I was doing, I leaned forward, pressing my lips to his.

Jamie kissed me back, taking his time to explore my lips. Gently, cupped my face with his hands as we kissed. When we finally broke apart, he touched his forehead against mine.

“I’ve been wanting to do that for months…” He admitted sheepishly. I ran my fingers through his buzzed, spiky hair.

“Me too.” I whispered, when he kissed me again.

We each savoured the other, as if we were never to do it again. We slowly began to undress each other, shedding each layer of clothing like a layer of our souls to get to the vulnerable core. Jamie lowered me on to my back a fished a condom from his suit pocket. I let his lips explore my body for a little longer before he slowly slid inside me.

“How does that feel?” he whispered.

“Good…”Β  His hips touched mine, sliding fully inside. I gasped at the pleasant feeling, my walls clenching around him. “Really good.”

He started a slow, steady rhythm, kissing me softly with a hunger I longed never to end. I let his hand trail down the curve of my hip and back up to cup my breast, gently massaging when he lowered his lips to the sensitive skin of my neck. Every movement he made felt heavenly. The weight of him on top of me, his hot breath tickling my skin as he kissed me, our delicious rhythm building between us while we made love suspended me in time. All I wanted was to stay in this moment for as long as I possibly could.

Steadily he built up the pace, the friction sweet and tender until he was pumping, fervent and animal. I wanted more. I needed more. I clawed at his muscular back, arching under him while the sound of his deep, male grunts sent me dizzy.

Please, Jamie!” I begged, “Faster…please…faster!”

As I begged, Jamie slowed his pace, exquisitely keeping me at the edge. A wicked chuckle caught in his throat as he hovered over me.

“Wanting more, are we?” he teased, placing a feather light kiss on my cheek. I groaned.

“Please, Jamie…please…” All I could do was beg him for more in dazed whispers.

“Aw, you’re so cute when you beg…” Jamie growled and lightly nipped my neck. I gasped and he chuckled again. He thrust forward, holding still, watching me moan. Then he really began to move, hard so our hips slammed against the other.

In a warm, serene rush, my climax hit me. I split apart at the seams, my eyes scrunched shut. I moaned his name above the roar in my ears. My release unravelled him. He wrapped my thighs around his forearms, setting to his knees. His hips jerked and his strong forearms stiffened.

Arrrgghh yeah…” He hissed through gritted teeth, “Yeah…yeahFUCK!

A series of delicious harsh grunts spun electric aftershocks shuddering down to me toes. We quivered together in silence, entangled in the other. When out breath finally steadied, he bundled me into his big arms. I nestled my head in the crook of his neck while he placed tender kisses on my forehead.

Me and Jamie snuggled together until we blew out the candles, falling asleep naked in each other’s arms under the blankets.
