Musings on porn (Part 2)

I love all things sensual. So when it comes to porn, sensual is definitely the genre I prefer over all the others.

Like how at times we’re in the mood for rough sex or some fantasy fun, sensual and romantic is what I continually found myself returning to. It resonates strongest with me and I find it relatable.

A few months ago, I read a really interesting article about a study Pornhub took collecting women’s porn watching habits in 2015. From the data collected, it found a 113% increase in women watching hardcore porn and a 106% increase in rough sex respectively. The top three most popular searches were For Women, Lesbian and Solo Male.

The response in other publications I found really surprised me as to how ingrained certain sexual stereotypes are in society: that women are naturally more drawn to gentler shenanigans because of the whole “fairer sex” argument and men drawn to rougher sex because “Ugg! Me man!” *facepalm and rolls eyes*

The response was a mixture of, “Duh!” to the completely mind baffling notion that “Women actually like rough sex? *GASPS!*”

Yes, it is true. We don’t moan and beg our guys to fuck us harder just to pass the time! Many of us girls like it like how they do on the Discovery Channel just as much as guys.

And with that, comes another stereotype busting. You know that really annoying, super sexist notion that, “all men are pigs” and they’re all only “after one thing?” Yeahhh that old chestnut! *rolls eyes* Men like softer, more sensual sex too, you know! *GASPS!!! and hears society implode*

I’m a chronic comment scroller. I like to read people’s thoughts and comments on whatever it may be that I’m reading. Porn was no exception. Aside from the usual, “Wow, that’s so hot.” and “Message me, I have a *insert penis/bra size here*” I came across some really interesting insights.

I’ll admit, when it came to sensual porn, where there’s at least a little bit more focus on the guys (from a woman: More focus on the guys, please!) I found a surprising amount of comments from guys saying that this was the kind of material they wanted to see more of.

I knew there were plenty of guys who preferred the stereotypical “Popular with Women” categories but it surprised me as to just how many guys did. About 80% of the comments I saw on some of these videos were from men, all saying the same things: “Now finally! This is a porn I can get behind!” No pun intended, I promise! *shifty eyes*.

What really surprised me, was just how many guys were genuinely surprised and thankful that us girls like it when they’re vocal in bed, especially at the point of climax. So many were saying they’d been ridiculed for being “moaners” and felt self-conscious about being vocal.

Speaking for myself, I love it when a guy isn’t afraid to moan, groan, grunt, whatever in the heat of the moment. To say it’s hot would be an understatement! Phwoaaarr! *fans self*.

I’ve yet to meet a woman who doesn’t find it to be one of the sexiest things on the planet, but of course every person is different.

Don’t be shy, guys! Let us hear you!

All my love,

Violet xx

    You can hear me lol.
I’m one of the guys that likes sensual. No I don’t want to see what’s going on down there. I want to see her face and what’s going on there.
Hard or sensual I think porn should try to be real. Some is really fake. One star I like because she’s more tell is Dani Daniels.
What else have you found Violet?

    1. Haha your comment’s giving me so much life lol! xD
Yeah some is super fake; I’m all for a mixture of fantasy and reality but keeping your feet firmly on the ground and remembering that it is just that: a visual expression of fantasy however realistic or not it is 🙂
A bit, I’ll be writing more about that soon!

Wow, I didn’t think my comment would be giving you life. I’d out because there’s someone out there who gets it a bit?
I look forward to hearing more about it xx

    1. Absolutely! 😀 I like how there’s something for everyone, whether it’s more mainstream on a niche like I.e. massage. While I do like material I can relate to sometimes, I love the fantasy element! It wouldn’t be fun without it! 😊 xx
