Is it hot in here?

We’ve had the hottest day of the year so far here in the UK at around 26 Celsius where I am. For here that’s quite on the warm side! ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

I’ve had a lovely day out in the countryside with my boyfriend, visiting a village we both love and looking in second-hand book shop he took me to last year on my birthday.

I love that little shop. Book stores are one of my happy places and in this tiny little store in such a beautiful village I was like a kid in a sweet shop! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Me being the resident “I don’t tan I just burn” person, I had to retreat to the shade as much as I could ๐Ÿ˜‚Dark hair and pale skin, I don’t fare well in the heat!

That and I’m more prone to heat stroke than the average bear after getting a bad case of it a few years back. Because of that admittedly hot weather makes me feel a little anxious, but I’m working on it.

I remember the summer a few years back where it was 15 degrees and I was in heaven! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Me and Kinky Bestie both joke that it’s because of our mutual Scottish heritage (both being descendents of families in the Highlands) that we don’t fare in hot weather well ๐Ÿ˜‚ For us (my clan was known for jet black hair, so soaking up heat like a sponge there!) the cooler the better! ๐Ÿ˜‚

No word of a lie, while many head to very hot countries on holiday during summer, I was looking at Iceland. Still wanting to go, temperature aside, it sure is a beautiful country! ๐Ÿ˜

Thankfully it’s going to cool back down, phew! And if not, well I’ll relocate to the Highlands for a bit ๐Ÿ˜‚

Scotland being like a second home to me, I certainly would have no complaints ๐Ÿ˜‚

All my love,

Violet xx

  1. You would not do well in Virginia. When the first colonists arrived in Jamestown in May 1607, they very quickly encountered some most un-British heat and humidity. That’s why the next colony they “planted” was in The North, what they called New England, due,in part, to the climatic similarity. 25ยฐ Celsius was warmer than Virginia today,

I am very pale and easily susceptible to sun burn. I use copious quantities of sunscreen to protect myself. This is necessary because I love the warmth!
