I can’t sleep. For the last few weeks, I’ve been in and out of sleep with a lot of stuff on my mind.
Organising rehearsals for me and J, songs, researching, doctors appointments, writing, budgeting, the works. So my mental “off” button where I can just chill has been neglected of late.
The great thing about being self employed is being your own boss. Despite its unpredictability, I love working to get my writing career off the ground.
The downside to that for me is with choosing your own hours, I forget to take time out for myself. I just go and go and go.
I’ve been a little stressed and started to feel anxiety and depression starting to creep back in again. So I’m putting my foot down with myself. I’m having a day off.
Or in the words of one the girls I was a dresser with at the theatre, “Treat yo self!” (she’s a big Master of None fan ๐)
I’m feeling catch up on my regency romance novel, have a little pamper session (I love me some lavender!) pilates/yoga and a nice cup of peppermint tea. Aaahhhh… ๐
Who knows, I might be able to catch up on some sleep too! ๐
All my love,
Violet xx
It’s important to take time to look after yourself. I had my own business a few years ago and my business mentor told me to make sure once a week I made an appointment “with myself” and stick to it.

Its good to recognize you need a break before you hit Burnout mode. Stick to your Me Time, everything else can wait ๐
